Understanding DigitalTCO Modes

DigitalTCO offers various modes tailored to different note-taking scenarios, ensuring flexibility and efficiency for your dental practice. Here’s a breakdown of the modes and how to use them effectively.

1. Super Dentist Cheat Mode

Best For:

  • Post-Appointment Dictation
  • Situations without a pre-defined template, such as:
    • Emergency cases
    • Patient complaints
    • Odd or unpredictable scenarios

Features:

  • Normal Mode: Produces a full, comprehensive note.
  • Simplified Mode: Generates a note snippet for specific purposes (e.g., radiograph report or a brief discussion). Use the toggle at the top to switch between these modes.
  • No Audio Saving: Super Dentist Cheat Mode does not save audio recordings, making it ideal for quick, informal notes.

Usage Tip:

While you can use it during live appointments, Super Dentist Cheat Mode is primarily designed for post-appointment dictation.

2. Exam Notes

Best For:

  • Full appointment documentation.
  • Working with templates to standardize your notes.

Key Features:

  • Live Appointment Recording or Post-Appointment Use: You can choose to record live or dictate notes after the appointment.
  • Template Support: Works with DigitalTCO’s Healthy Patient Baseline model, as explained in the Templates Article.
  • Flexible Recording Options:
    • Set live recording as the default in the profile section.
    • Enable or disable live recording for individual appointments using the checkbox at the top right of the exam notes section.
  • No Template Mode: If you choose to remove the template, Exam Notes functions similarly to Super Dentist Cheat Mode but supports live appointment recording.

3. Treatment Notes

Best For:

  • Documenting treatment protocols with minor variations.

Key Features:

  • Post-Appointment Dictation: Typically used to document minor deviations from a standard treatment protocol.
  • Protocol-Based Notes:
    • Follow your established protocol and note variations (e.g., "The upper right six was deep" or "A different size implant was used").
    • Either dictate the deviations yourself or have your nurse input them during the appointment.
  • No Live Recording Required: Treatment Notes don’t require live audio recording, making them simple and efficient.

Summary of Modes

Mode Purpose Audio Saving Template Required
